Building Pathology

As committed and inquisitive professionals, we are always looking to understand how buildings behave, and why defects are present.

We define the process of diagnosing a defect as ‘building pathology’, which involves a comprehensive approach to building analysis, focusing on how and why defects are present, what will happen in the future and what action needs to be taken and when.

A defect with your property, such as a crack in the wall or unstable floor, can be worrying. Our team of leading Chartered professionals have extensive experience of such issues and can conduct a survey of the defect to establish its cause. A report will be provided with detailed recommendations for actions which can be taken to resolve the issue.

In addition to the examples above, we consider ourselves adept at challenging projects, and would welcome new and innovative schemes for us to test our skills! Should any of our services be of interest, please contact us via any of the methods available on our Contact Us page.

I'm really pleased with the service Canham Consulting provided. They were very quick to respond to my urgent requirement and delivered to budget. The designs they provided on my extension were second to none and the result wouldn't have been as good if I went elsewhere. Overall they provided a brilliant service and I would happily recommend them to friends.

I have used Canham Consulting now on numerous occasions to undertake structural surveys for me in the early stages of my projects. They have always been swift to attend site and have a written report back to me within days and I cannot stress how important this is to me in order to kick start projects. The level of information is exactly what I require, along with exceptional customer service to match. I will continue to work alongside them in the future.

We have worked with Canham Consulting for a number of years on a complex scheme, which has thrown up a number of challenges in terms of drainage engineering, flood relief and fuel storage solutions. Our Consultant is contactable, commercial, and realistic and his team have risen to the challenges to produce honest solutions to some difficult problems. We are impressed with the work and with the support that has been given to us as clients and would most definitely be utilising their service again in the future where the need arises.

As architectural designers and planning consultants, we are often thinking outside the box when it comes to design, and often there comes a time when we require the help of a structural engineer to make our vision a reality.

It is very important to both us and our clients that we can work closely with an engineer to find a no-nonsense and practical solution to solving structural problems and that’s where our long term relationship with Canham’s hits the mark every time.

Time and time again, they have proved to be fast and reliable, and their refreshing pragmatic approach to problem solving always helps to keep our projects moving forwards with as little fuss as possible.

Canham Consulting really understood our needs as a client, and the constraints and challenges of the project. They brought a wealth of knowledge and experience with them, consistently offered valued and well-considered advice. They were always prepared to go the extra mile to find workable solutions to inevitable problems. It was a joy to work with the team.
