Traffic Assessments

Within the planning section of a project, there is a requirement for certain size schemes to consider how additional traffic may affect the local highway network. An assessment of how a scheme will impact the traffic in the area is required, and takes the form of either a Traffic Assessment or of a Traffic Statement.

We have the capacity to measure existing traffic flow, model proposed junctions and advocate on behalf of our clients with the local highway authority about the suitability of a scheme, advising the client on specific requirements for improvements where required.

Alongside this, we also have the capacity to provide Travel Plans for developments. A Travel Plan is required on schemes to identify how the site will run, identifying sustainable travel methods and advising a client on how they can help their business be more environmentally sustainable from a travel perspective.

In addition to the examples above, we consider ourselves adept at challenging projects, and would welcome new and innovative schemes for us to test our skills! Should any of our services be of interest, please contact us via any of the methods available on our Contact Us page.

We have worked with Canham Consulting over the past ten years, their approach to structural problems has been creative and their service prompt and professional.

Much of our work involves contemporary insertions into listed buildings and Canhams are sensitive to traditional structures while being appreciative of a contemporary approach to design.

Canhams offer an approachable service, a dialogue to discuss possibilities to enable concepts to come to fruition stretching the building and structural innovation to deadlines and mindful of client budget.

As architectural designers and planning consultants, we are often thinking outside the box when it comes to design, and often there comes a time when we require the help of a structural engineer to make our vision a reality.

It is very important to both us and our clients that we can work closely with an engineer to find a no-nonsense and practical solution to solving structural problems and that’s where our long term relationship with Canham’s hits the mark every time.

Time and time again, they have proved to be fast and reliable, and their refreshing pragmatic approach to problem solving always helps to keep our projects moving forwards with as little fuss as possible.

On the recommendation of a fellow independent House Builder, we instructed Canham Consulting to carry out the Civil Engineering design for our major new development of 155 homes at Brundall. Our experience has indeed been a refreshing change and we have found their team to be very capable of adopting a collaborative approach to the design, furthermore they fully understand the need for a holistic overview in order to mitigate the inevitable conflicts and frustrations which are now all too common in the modern detailed planning process.

We have worked with Canham Consulting for a number of years on a complex scheme, which has thrown up a number of challenges in terms of drainage engineering, flood relief and fuel storage solutions. Our Consultant is contactable, commercial, and realistic and his team have risen to the challenges to produce honest solutions to some difficult problems. We are impressed with the work and with the support that has been given to us as clients and would most definitely be utilising their service again in the future where the need arises.
